England started the game brightly.

Lauren James failed to take an early chance in the match with her shot off target. The offside goal scored by Alessia Russo for England Women was the turning point.

England Women looked disheartened, and France Women took the opportunity to step up the momentum with two goals scored by Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Sandy Baltimore.

Second half, England Women's struggles continued with not being able to find the right passes and losing the ball. France looked the better team and controlled the game well.

Keira Walsh managed to find a goal towards the end of the game. England Women looked dangerous in the last few minutes, but it was too late in the game to make a difference.

England Women play Netherlands Women next, followed by Wales. They will have to be at their best to make sure they win those two games.
