The finals, the one we have all been waiting for.
England Women play Spain Women, the two nations that have dominated women’s football over the last few years.
England Women started the tournament against France Women. It wasn’t what was expected by anyone with a loss.
Next two games against the Netherlands Women and Wales Women, England Women played the football we all wanted to see, winning both games convincingly.
In the quarter-finals against Sweden Women, conceding two goals early in the first half, England Women made it an impossible task for themselves.
On came Chloe Kelly and Michelle Agyemang, changing the game and England Women scoring two goals late in the game.
The penalty shootout was one of the worst, with Hannah Hampton the hero, saving two penalties and England Women going through.
Italy Women deserve credit for the way they played in the semi-finals. They scored early in the first half and defended well throughout the match.
The two saviours from the quarter-finals stepped up again, with Michelle Agyemang scoring just before the final whistle. Chloe Kelly added a second goal late in extra time with a rebound to her penalty.
The togetherness, courage, and never-give-up attitude got England Women to the final.
