Memories of 2024/25 season

The 2025/26 season is nearly here.

The 2024/25 season had special moments that will now be cherished memories.

Arsenal Women: Arsenal Women 1 - 0 Barcelona Women

Arsenal Women won the Champions League in 2007 after defeating Umeå in a two-legged final. The only goal was scored in the first leg by Alex Scott. They ended the 18-year wait by beating three-time winners Barcelona, with Stena Blackstenius scoring the winning goal.

The manager, Renée Slegers, took over from Jonas Eidevall in October 2024. She has given belief to the team and the players, finishing her first season by winning a trophy.

Arsenal Women are the only English team to win the Champions League.

Tottenham Hotspur: Tottenham Hotspur 1 - 0 Manchester United

Tottenham Hotspur won the Europa League against Manchester United, ending a 17-year trophy drought. Brennan Johnson was the only goalscorer.

Ange Postecoglou joined Tottenham in June 2023, and he has always maintained that he will win trophies in his second season. Unfortunately, he was sacked by the club in June 2025.

Newcastle United: Liverpool 1 - 2 Newcastle United

Newcastle United won the Carabao Cup after a 56-year trophy drought. The goals scored by Dan Burn and Alexander Isak for Newcastle. Federico Cheisa scored the only goal for Liverpool in injury time.

Eddie Howe became Newcastle manager in October 2021. Since he signed, he has managed to get Newcastle into the Champions League twice and now has his first trophy for the club.

Crystal Palace: Crystal Palace 1 - 0 Manchester City

Crystal Palace won their first trophy by beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final. Eze scored the only goal.

Oliver Glasner suffered a brain haemorrhage in August 2011. He survived the operation but ended his 16-year playing career. He became the manager of Crystal Palace in February 2024.

Let’s hope for more of these moments in the 2025/26 season.
